(1891-1979) Тагуэлл, Рексфорд ГайЭкономист и политолог, государственный деятель. В 1932 вошел в предвыборную команду, а позднее в "мозговой трест" [ brain trust] президента Ф. Д. Рузвельта [ Roosevelt, Franklin Delano (FDR)]. В течение его первых двух президентских сроков занимал посты помощника, затем заместителя министра сельского хозяйства [ Secretary of Agriculture], возглавляя Управление сельского расселения, которое занималось переселением фермеров в более плодородные районы. Играл видную политическую роль в стране на протяжении 60 лет - был губернатором Пуэрто-Рико [ Puerto Rico] (1941-46) (на этом посту подготовил программу "Самопомощь" [ Operation Bootstrap]), директором Института планирования при Чикагском университете [University of Chicago's Institute of Planning] (1946-52).
